Director, PDe & Global MSAT Technical Strategy (Biotechnology)

Location: United States, California, Santa Monica

Salary: $205,615–$266,090 per year, plus potential annual bonus, long-term stock incentives, paid time off, and benefits.

What you will do

• Develop and communicate technical strategy spanning Process Development and Manufacturing Science and Technology.
• Drive short-, mid-, and long-term strategy and goals for GMSAT and PDe-nMSAT, including network pillar teams.
• Coordinate alignment between manufacturing sites, Network MSAT, Process Development, Quality, and other global stakeholders.
• Lead technical business-process improvement initiatives, workshops, governance activities, and operational planning.
• Define KPIs, metrics, dashboards, monitoring cadences, and performance updates for senior leadership.
• Create a system to capture and organize knowledge across GMSAT and PDe-nMSAT.

Requirements

• PhD in biological or chemical engineering, biotechnology, life sciences, or a related discipline with 2+ years of relevant industry experience; or a related master's degree with 8+ years; or bachelor's degree with 10+ years.
• Experience in process development, manufacturing sciences and technology, manufacturing operations, technical operations, or a closely related function.
• Experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives in a matrixed organization.
• Strong knowledge of cell therapy, biologics, or advanced-therapy process development and commercial manufacturing.
• Strong executive communication, critical-thinking, facilitation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to influence without direct authority and build relationships across functions, sites, and leadership levels.

Nice to have

• Experience establishing governance, operating models, KPIs, dashboards, and management review processes.
• Working knowledge of data visualization and dashboard tools.
• Lean Six Sigma certification or demonstrated continuous-improvement experience.
