Solutions Architect - Pacific Northwest (Data Infrastructure)

Location: Pacific Northwest, United States

Salary: $230,000–$280,000 USD annually; US Premium Markets: $250,000–$300,000 USD annually.

What you will do

• Own technical evaluations for enterprise accounts from discovery through proof of concept, architecture approval, security review, and the first production workload.
• Design production-scale architectures covering sizing, sharding, replication, ingestion, tiered storage, cost modeling, and failure scenarios.
• Lead competitive displacements against platforms such as Elasticsearch, Splunk, Snowflake, BigQuery, Druid, Pinot, and custom systems.
• Develop migration plans covering sequencing, dual-run operation, validation, and cutover.
• Clear security and procurement requirements, including compliance materials, network and identity architecture, and BYOC or private deployment needs.
• Partner with Enterprise Account Executives, Product, and Engineering to win opportunities and represent customer technical needs.

Requirements

• Deep experience in data infrastructure as a data engineer, platform engineer, software engineer, DBA, or solutions architect.
• Production experience operating analytical databases such as ClickHouse, Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Druid, Pinot, or Vertica.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, including partitioning, replication, consistency trade-offs, and query execution.
• Experience with Kafka and CDC pipelines, orchestration, object storage, BI tools, and at least one major cloud platform: AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Experience leading technical evaluations against named competitors and designing migrations from incumbent systems.
• Customer-facing experience in pre-sales, consulting, technical account management, or staff-level engineering, plus strong written and verbal communication.
