Targeting Officer

Location: Sterling, VA, United States; onsite position.

Salary: $140,000–$215,000 per year.

What you will do

• Use classified and open-source databases to research foreign intelligence and identify targeting leads.
• Conduct all-source target analysis across multiple mission areas and support high-priority intelligence objectives.
• Develop targeting packages, written products, briefings, and detailed analytical products.
• Review operational reporting and traffic to identify actionable intelligence leads and counterintelligence concerns.
• Coordinate with sponsor organizations and operational components to validate intelligence gaps and support mission execution.
• Conduct database queries and disseminate relevant intelligence to appropriate customer components.

Requirements

• TS/SCI clearance with polygraph required.
• Bachelor’s degree and 7–20 years of relevant professional experience, depending on level; 5 additional years of experience may substitute for the degree.
• At least three years of experience using Intelligence Community targeting tools for operational planning, target development, and mission execution.
• Experience identifying and validating threat targets using all-source analysis, intelligence tools, databases, and analytical methodologies.
• Experience producing actionable intelligence, targeting solutions, targeting packages, and analytical products.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, plus strong organizational and time-management skills.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field.
• Sponsor Targeting Officer certification or equivalent.
• Experience collaborating with foreign partners and supporting multinational or interagency initiatives.
• Experience delivering training, presentations, or instructional briefings to foreign partners.
