Senior Site Reliability Engineer, Product - USDS

Location: Seattle, United States; fully in-person schedule up to 5 days a week

Base salary: $177,688–$341,734 annually, with potential eligibility for discretionary bonuses, incentives, and restricted stock units.

What you will do

• Design, deploy, and operate large-scale, high-availability systems with cross-functional teams.
• Build and maintain automation tools and processes that improve system reliability and operational efficiency.
• Lead SRE initiatives and provide technical guidance and mentorship.
• Diagnose and resolve production issues in collaboration with software engineers.
• Monitor system health, identify risks proactively, and drive infrastructure improvements through experimentation and research.
• Design and implement disaster recovery plans.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, Production Engineering, or a similar role working with large-scale distributed systems.
• Strong knowledge of containers and orchestration tools, including Docker and Kubernetes.
• In-depth knowledge of Unix/Linux administration, networking fundamentals, and storage systems.
• Programming experience in one or more of C, C++, Java, Python, Go, Ruby, Rust, or JavaScript.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
