Senior Risk Manager - Insurance and Contract Compliance (Construction)

Location: Bedford Park, Illinois; Lakeville, Minnesota; Montgomery, Illinois; or Otsego, Minnesota, United States

Expected salary range: $132,000–$181,500 USD per year.

What you will do

• Directly manage, interview, train, assign, and evaluate team members while resolving workplace issues.
• Manage project-specific insurance coverage and bonds throughout project lifecycles, extended reporting periods, and completed operations periods.
• Review domestic and international construction contracts, joint venture agreements, and customer terms to identify exposures, obligations, insurance requirements, and risk transfer opportunities.
• Coordinate legal, insurance, operational, and project management reviews of contract terms and conditions.
• Procure contract-specific insurance, builders risk coverage, and certificates of insurance for contracts and joint venture bids.
• Review coverage issues related to construction, lease, subcontract, and consultant agreements with Legal and operational stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of related experience, or an equivalent combination.
• Prior management and construction industry experience.
• Strong experience in risk management, insurance, and contract risk transfer within heavy civil construction.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Valid driver’s license for the vehicles that may be driven and an acceptable driving record.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting international construction projects and multinational insurance programs.
• Professional designations such as CPCU, ARM, CRIS, or equivalent risk management and insurance certifications.
