Senior IP Litigation Paralegal

Location: Based in the Dallas, New York City, or Washington, D.C. office; travel is required as needed.

Salary: $125,000–$175,000 annually.

What you will do

• Support attorneys and paralegal staff throughout IP litigation matters from case initiation through trial.
• Manage case deadlines, dockets, documents, charts, indices, and day-to-day litigation administration.
• Assist with court filings, discovery, document collection, review, production, and invalidity and infringement contentions.
• Prepare claim construction briefs and Markman hearings, depositions, interviews, trials, arbitrations, and related travel.
• Proofread and cite-check briefs and discovery documents using Bluebook standards.
• Coordinate with external vendors and mentor junior paralegals and legal assistants.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and a paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program.
• 8+ years of relevant experience preferred, with the ability to support complex litigation from beginning to end.
• Knowledge of litigation practices, procedures, regulations, workflows, patent terminology, and citations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe, LexisNexis, Westlaw, iManage, and eDiscovery databases such as Relativity, Opus 2, and CaseMap.
• Experience with USPTO Patent Center and obtaining patents, prosecution histories, and prior art.
• Strong organization, analytical reasoning, communication, multitasking, independent work, and deadline-management skills; willingness to travel and work overtime as needed.

• Experience with Hatch-Waxman IP litigation and life sciences IP litigation.
