TL;DR
Quality Tech - 2nd Shift (Automotive Manufacturing): Performing inspections and testing on supplier parts, vehicle assemblies, sub-assemblies, and completed delivery vehicles with an accent on manufacturing quality, measurement systems, and production support. Focus on recording findings in MES, conducting vehicle and component measurements with CMM and hand tools, evaluating paint and sheet metal quality, and supporting root-cause and 8D improvement activities.

Location: Onsite in Spartanburg, South Carolina, United States; 2nd shift

What you will do

  • Complete inspections and testing on supplier parts, in-process vehicles, sub-assemblies, and completed vehicles.
  • Perform sorting, minor rework, and containment inspections on suspect components and vehicles.
  • Record inspection and test findings in the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and prepare summary reports.
  • Measure incoming parts and in-process vehicles using CMM equipment, calipers, micrometers, and go/no-go gauges.
  • Verify DC torque tools, inspect paint and sheet metal quality, and complete testing and drive evaluations on finished vehicles.
  • Collaborate with production operators and participate in plant reviews, continuous improvement, root-cause, and 8D meetings.

Requirements

  • Basic computer, math, and reading skills.
  • General understanding of testing equipment and the ability to analyze and interpret information.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Above-standard written and verbal communication skills with leadership and team members.
  • Team-oriented approach and commitment to quality, established standards, accountability, and reliability.

Nice to have

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Previous automotive experience.
  • At least six months of experience as an Inspection or Quality Technician.
