Inpatient Utilization Review Clinician (Behavioral Health)

Location: Remote-LA, United States; Tuesday–Saturday or Wednesday–Sunday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., with holiday rotation.

Pay range: $27.02–$48.55 per hour.

What you will do

• Review mental health and substance abuse treatment before, during, and after services.
• Perform prior authorization and concurrent reviews for inpatient behavioral health care.
• Assess level of care, treatment needs, medical appropriateness, and discharge planning.
• Analyze behavioral health member data to improve quality and appropriate utilization.
• Educate providers, members, and families about the behavioral health utilization process.
• Present cases in staffing and integrated rounds and collaborate with providers, medical directors, and leadership.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school or a bachelor's degree with 2–4 years of related experience.
• Master’s degree required for behavioral health clinicians.
• Independent professional licensure required, including LCSW, LMHC, LPC, LMFT, LMHP, or RN state/compact-state licensure.
• Clinical knowledge of mental health and substance abuse treatment plans and utilization review.
• Experience working with healthcare providers and clinical teams on care services.
