Senior Research Analyst (Legal Research)

Annual compensation: $125,000–$145,000, depending on qualifications and operational considerations.

What you will do

• Conduct in-depth legal research across all practice groups, including complex and multijurisdictional requests.
• Manage research assignments independently and prepare comprehensive, timely analysis of findings.
• Support client development research, including background checks and competitive intelligence on clients, prospects, and markets.
• Use GenAI tools and emerging technologies to improve research quality and streamline workflows.
• Develop and deliver training for RIM analysts, attorneys, and staff, including onboarding and orientation.
• Evaluate new research resources through trials and assessments, and provide recommendations to RIM leadership; participate in rotating weekend coverage.

Requirements

• Master’s in Library Science or equivalent; a JD is preferred.
• Six to eight years of related research services experience in a law firm or professional services organization.
• Thorough knowledge of library science, research techniques, and professional research resources.
• Proficiency with legal research databases including Lexis+, Westlaw Precision, CoCounsel, Bloomberg Law, Lex Machina, Deal Point Data, and Newsdesk.
• Advanced analytical judgment, problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, hybrid team environment while coordinating multiple priorities.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting corporate practice groups such as M&A, capital markets, private equity, or securities.
• Experience using Quest as a centralized ticketing system for research requests.
