Practice Group Research Liaison - Intellectual Property (Legal Technology)

Hiring salary range: $85,000–$125,000 per year

What you will do

• Deliver expert research services and strategic guidance to Intellectual Property, Health Care + Life Sciences, Real Estate, and Privacy + Cyber practice groups.
• Assess research and information needs with attorneys, practice leadership, Knowledge Management & Innovation, and administrative teams.
• Develop generative AI use cases, evaluate emerging technologies, and lead adoption of research tools, workflows, and document automation solutions.
• Create tailored training curricula, onboarding materials, knowledge portals, intranet pages, and resource collections.
• Curate reusable work products, templates, precedent materials, model documents, and best-practice resources.
• Report on knowledge management activities, technology adoption metrics, research resources, and innovation opportunities.

Requirements

• JD or MLIS/MLS required.
• Minimum five years of experience in a law firm environment and five years of legal research experience.
• Proficiency in Intellectual Property research covering patent, trademark, copyright, and trade secret databases and methodologies.
• Advanced experience with Derwent Patent Search, PatentAdvisor, Corsearch, Westlaw, Lexis, Bloomberg Law, VitalLaw, Lex Machina, CourtLink, Docket Alarm, Courthouse News, and Manzama.
• Experience with generative AI solutions, technology adoption, or change management in a professional services environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, iManage, and other firm applications, along with advanced communication, presentation, analytical, and organizational skills.
