Senior Data Scientist (Ads)

Location: San Jose, United States; fully in-person schedule up to 5 days a week

Base salary: $176,356–$329,334 annually, with potential discretionary bonuses, incentives, and restricted stock units.

What you will do

• Analyze large and complex datasets and solve non-routine analytical problems using advanced statistical methods.
• Gather data, specify requirements, process and analyze datasets, and deliver presentations of findings.
• Build and iteratively prototype scalable analysis pipelines.
• Develop expertise in TikTok data structures and metrics and advocate for improvements supporting product development.
• Partner cross-functionally to provide cost-benefit, forecasting, and experiment-analysis recommendations through clear quantitative visualizations.
• Research and develop analysis, forecasting, and optimization methods for TikTok Ads products.

Requirements

• BA, master's degree, or PhD in a quantitative discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of relevant professional experience.
• Expertise in statistical data analysis, including linear models, multivariate analysis, stochastic models, and sampling methods.
• Experience with statistical software such as R, Python, or MATLAB.
• Experience with database languages such as SQL.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, leadership, self-direction, and ability to select suitable statistical tools.

Nice to have

• Experience with advertising, recommendation systems, e-commerce, or search.
• Willingness to teach others and learn new analytical techniques.
