Senior Medical Writer (Oncology)

Location: United States; hybrid work schedule

Salary: $90,000–$100,000 per year, depending on qualifications, with eligibility for an annual bonus program or commission incentive.

What you will do

• Conduct extensive literature reviews covering disease states, therapeutic advances, and clinical data in oncology.
• Develop medical and scientific content for print, digital, video, and live-event deliverables, including manuscripts, slide decks, discussion guides, and educational video tools.
• Fact-check referenced literature globally and apply AMA style, 11th edition, and internal editorial guidelines.
• Review and edit content through multiple stages, incorporating feedback from clients, peer reviewers, faculty authors, and creative services.
• Support pharmaceutical promotional review processes and revise materials through medical, legal, and regulatory review.
• Attend conferences, advisory boards, meetings, and video productions, and produce executive summaries, articles, and presentations based on event coverage.

Requirements

• Advanced healthcare-related degree such as PharmD, DO, MD, MS, or PhD in life sciences or biomedical sciences.
• At least 3 years of experience in a medical communications agency or company, including specific oncology experience.
• Superior verbal and written communication skills with the ability to multitask, manage timelines, and solve problems.
• Proficiency in AMA style, 11th edition, and internal editorial standards.
• Ability to travel for events, meetings, and video productions approximately 3–5 days per month.
