Sr. Practice Accountant (Reporting)

What you will do

• Support month-end close activities by preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analyses across assigned functional areas.
• Review staff accountants’ work for accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with accounting standards.
• Maintain accounting records and supporting documentation in line with US GAAP and internal controls.
• Mentor and train staff accountants while collaborating with Practice Accounting Operations on results and variance explanations.
• Support the integration of new physicians, tuck-ins, and service lines, including opening balance sheets and cash-to-accrual conversions.
• Contribute to process improvement and accounting automation initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; a master’s degree is preferred.
• At least 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in healthcare.
• Strong knowledge of internal controls, accounting best practices, and technical accounting topics such as revenue, leases, and liabilities.
• Strong Excel proficiency and experience with ERP systems; Workday experience is preferred.
• Active CPA license is strongly preferred.
• High attention to detail, strong organization, research ability, and the capacity to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Nice to have

• Previous experience mentoring or reviewing the work of junior staff.
• Master’s degree in Accounting.
• Healthcare accounting experience.
