Manager, Identity Fraud Strategy (Cybersecurity)

Location: Downtown Chicago office, Merchandise Mart; hybrid schedule with in-office work on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday

Base salary: USD $125,000–$155,000 per year, plus eligibility for an annual bonus.

What you will do

• Design and optimize risk-based identity verification workflows to balance approval rates, customer friction, and fraud losses.
• Evaluate identity-verification vendors and manage their performance, contracts, and roadmaps.
• Partner with the CIAM team on multi-factor authentication, device trust, step-up challenges, and account-takeover prevention.
• Build real-time monitoring frameworks, escalation workflows, automated controls, and reporting dashboards for fraud and authentication risks.
• Develop business cases, cost-benefit analyses, ROI projections, and implementation roadmaps for identity initiatives.
• Lead and develop a fraud analytics team while collaborating with Engineering, Product, Compliance, and Risk.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in risk or fraud analytics.
• Experience leading and developing analytics teams, including coaching and performance management.
• Strong analytical, data-storytelling, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Proficiency with SQL and at least one analytics or visualization tool such as Python, Tableau, or Looker.

Nice to have

• Experience designing and optimizing risk-based verification or authentication strategies.
• Experience in financial services or another regulated industry.
• Familiarity with NIST digital identity guidelines, cybersecurity practices, and regulatory requirements.
• Experience managing third-party identity or fraud solution vendors.
• Knowledge of CIAM platforms, identity-proofing technologies, and access-management frameworks.
