Senior Director, Medical Affairs Learning & Development (Biotechnology)

Location: Waltham, MA, United States; ability to travel up to 30%.

Salary: $245,000–$270,000 USD per year.

What you will do

• Develop and execute the Medical Affairs learning strategy, capability roadmap, governance standards, and best practices.
• Design field medical excellence, strategic account engagement, insight generation, customer interaction, coaching, and certification programs.
• Lead onboarding and role-based curricula covering disease states, clinical data, scientific communication, medical exchange, competitive intelligence, and healthcare ecosystems.
• Lead Medical Affairs launch training and certification programs for scientific, compliance, and customer-facing readiness.
• Prepare teams for advisory boards, congresses, investigator interactions, publications, and medical education initiatives.
• Establish learning metrics, dashboards, analytics, and continuous-improvement processes while overseeing learning technologies, vendors, and external education partners.

Requirements

• Advanced scientific or healthcare degree required; PharmD, PhD, MD, DO, DNP, PA, NP, or equivalent preferred.
• 15+ years of progressive experience in biopharmaceutical, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare organizations.
• Significant experience in Medical Affairs, field medical leadership, Medical Education, training, learning and development, or related functions.
• Experience designing, implementing, and measuring Medical Affairs or field medical training programs and supporting product launches in a regulated environment.
• Strong knowledge of Medical Affairs functions, adult learning, instructional design, capability building, change management, regulatory compliance, and ethical requirements.
• Exceptional communication, facilitation, presentation, stakeholder management, project management, team leadership, and vendor management skills, including experience with learning management systems and digital learning platforms.
