Tech Lead, API

Location: Based in San Francisco with a hybrid schedule.

Salary: $248,000 - $316,000 base salary.

Overview

You will drive execution and technical vision for the API team. Your scope includes assisting product teams, overseeing core feature changes, rearchitecting API frameworks, and mentoring engineers and developer advocates. You'll collaborate with other groups in Engineering and serve as a technical counterpart to the Engineering Manager.

What you will do

• Set the technical strategy for the API platform.
• Drive the team to continually improve and enable engineers.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Product Management, Design, Data Science, and User Research teams.
• Own and shape API design guidelines.
• Develop across the entire stack using Scala, Javascript, and Typescript.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience working in large codebases.
• 2+ years leading engineering teams.
• 1+ years building public-facing API products or Developer Platforms.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and delegation skills.
