Associate (Public Relations)

Location: Hybrid in Washington, DC, with in-person work at the downtown headquarters on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays

Salary: $60,000–$65,500 annually

What you will do

• Monitor client news in real time and communicate important issues to internal teams and clients.
• Prepare reporter backgrounders, press lists, stakeholder lists, fact sheets, talking points, and other communications materials.
• Conduct competitive analyses and research media coverage, legislation, political stakeholders, and industry trends.
• Identify and assess media and visibility opportunities for clients.
• Coordinate logistics for media and client meetings, announcement days, and client events.
• Support and implement daily activities across several client accounts.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in communications, public relations, digital media, or a comparable field.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Strong interest in politics, legislative issues, public affairs, and communications strategy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to develop and edit high-quality materials.
• Strong research, problem-solving, attention-to-detail, multitasking, and project-management abilities.
• Authorization to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship is required.

Nice to have

• Media relations experience with proven results and experience pitching reporters.
