Scientist LC/GC Data Interpretation (Medical Device)

Location: St. Louis, Missouri, USA; primarily on-site with remote work available as needed

What you will do

• Interpret LCMS and/or GCMS extractable data from medical device chemical characterization studies.
• Identify compounds and analytical peaks above specified reporting limits.
• Support chemical characterization work aligned with ISO 10993-18 and FDA medical device approval requirements.
• Use software such as Compound Discoverer, TraceFinder, Unknowns Analysis, and MassHunter.
• Review results with attention to detail and communicate findings clearly in a laboratory workflow.
• Comply with ISO 27001 and company information security requirements.

Requirements

• MS degree in Chemistry or a related field with 3+ years of industry experience, or PhD with 2+ years of industry experience.
• Required experience interpreting LCMS and/or GCMS data and identifying compounds; instrument operation alone is not sufficient.
• Laboratory experience or familiarity with LCMS, GCMS, and several analytical techniques.
• Understanding of method development and validation processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, plus strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work primarily on-site in St. Louis, USA, with remote work as needed. Physical requirements include extended computer or laboratory equipment use, PPE use, handling small devices, and moving items up to 50 lb.

Nice to have

• Thermo LCMS data interpretation or Agilent GCMS data interpretation.
• Experience with Compound Discoverer or Unknown Analysis.
• Experience identifying unknown compounds and working with high-resolution data.
