Senior Treasury Operations Manager (Biotech)

Location: Hybrid in Silver Spring, Maryland, United States; office attendance required at least three days per week, with requirements potentially increasing based on business needs. Relocation assistance may be available for non-local candidates.

Salary: $133,000–$180,000 per year, plus eligibility for short-term and long-term incentive programs.

What you will do

• Oversee global cash positioning, forecasting, liquidity planning, bank administration, settlements, and treasury system administration.
• Monitor short-term investment portfolios and analyze yield, duration, credit quality, counterparty exposure, and principal-protection objectives.
• Prepare investment control reports, fair-value reconciliations, impairment assessments, and compliance calculations.
• Build cash-flow forecasts, perform variance analysis, and support GAAP and SEC reporting, including 10-Q and 10-K disclosures.
• Develop liquidity stress-testing models, contingency funding plans, scenario analyses, and financial risk reporting.
• Coordinate SOX controls, SOC 1 reviews, audits, debt covenant certifications, and collaboration with Finance, Accounting, FP&A, Tax, Legal, AP, banks, and investment managers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; a master’s degree may qualify with 8+ years of relevant experience.
• 10+ years of progressive corporate treasury, finance, or accounting experience, or 8+ years with a master’s degree.
• At least 5 years of experience building quantitative financial models for interest-rate sensitivity, counterparty risk, scenario analysis, stress testing, or portfolio optimization.
• Advanced knowledge of cash management, short-term investment instruments, investment policies, U.S. GAAP, and financial risk management.
• Advanced Excel modeling skills, including scenario analysis, sensitivity tables, yield analytics, and Monte Carlo simulation; hands-on experience with a treasury management system such as Kyriba or FIS Integrity.
• Ability to work in the Silver Spring office at least three days per week.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree, Certified Treasury Professional, CPA, or CFA certification.
• Experience in a publicly traded pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life sciences company.
• Experience with SEC treasury disclosures, Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Python, SAP, Clearwater Analytics, FBAR, and international treasury operations.
• Prior supervisory or mentoring experience.
