Manager Preclinical Research (MedTech)

Location: Irvine, California, United States; hybrid model

Base pay: $117,000–$201,250 per year

What you will do

• Represent preclinical research on new product development projects as the medical core team member.
• Lead preclinical evidence strategies supporting clinical claims and characterize product capabilities and clinical workflows.
• Collaborate with R&D, Marketing, Clinical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Quality, Health Economics & Market Access, and Medical Education.
• Ensure the development and execution of product development deliverables.
• Support product introductions, launches, case support, and internal and external training.
• Prepare or manage presentations and manuscripts based on preclinical data.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; MD, DVM, VMD, MSc, or PhD preferred.
• At least 8 years of relevant experience, including 4 years in the healthcare industry.
• Significant experience in preclinical and clinical research.
• Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, relationship-building, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work effectively with multiple partners in a matrix environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with large-animal preclinical models.
• Industry experience working with Medical, Clinical, and R&D teams in a regulated commercial medical device business.
• Demonstrated success in medical data generation, interpretation, and preclinical testing.
