Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Hybrid; office location not specified

Base salary: $160K–$200K per year, plus equity. Compensation depends on experience level.

hirify.global is an early-stage healthcare startup developing an AI-powered care navigation platform for health systems in the U.S. and MENA region.

What you will do

• Track emerging techniques in voice AI, LLMs, and agent orchestration.
• Build rapid prototypes and test them using real conversation data and engineering development processes.
• Run controlled evaluations of models, providers, reasoning approaches, speech models, and orchestration patterns.
• Turn investigations into benchmarks, technical deep-dives, tech talks, or evidence-based recommendations.
• Work with platform engineers to hand validated prototypes over for production implementation.
• Share relevant new techniques and support knowledge transfer across the engineering team.

Requirements

• 3+ years of software engineering or applied ML experience.
• Strong coding skills and the ability to build and run experiments end-to-end without infrastructure support.
• Hands-on experience with LLM prompting and evaluation, with an understanding of how model behavior changes across techniques and providers.
• Experience designing experiments with controls, baselines, and honest measurement.
• Experience teaching or transferring technical knowledge through teaching, workshops, technical writing, internal talks, open source, or developer education.
• Comfort reporting when a promising idea does not work.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree in computer science, machine learning, or a related field, or equivalent research experience.
• Experience with voice or speech systems, including STT, TTS, or real-time pipelines.
• Publications, technical blog posts, or open-source work.
• Experience taking prototypes into production with an engineering team.
• Experience evaluating AI systems in healthcare or other high-stakes domains.
