Director, AI Platform & Enablement (AI)

Location: New York, United States

Base salary: $275,000–$340,000 plus discretionary annual target bonus, performance incentives, and benefits.

What you will do

• Own the enterprise AI strategy, identify high-value opportunities, prioritize investments, and take responsibility for delivery.
• Build and lead the AI Platform & Enablement team, including hiring, development, and retention.
• Define the AI capability roadmap and develop shared services such as agents, connectors, a skills library, and discovery tools.
• Partner with Platform Engineering and Security on infrastructure, deployment, reliability, provider management, and connector security reviews.
• Lead enterprise AI tool rollout, employee training, workflow redesign, adoption, and forward-deployed engineering initiatives.
• Establish ownership and support models for deployed solutions while measuring adoption, efficiency, and return on investment.

Requirements

• 10+ years of technical experience, including leadership of engineering or platform teams and delivery of operational change.
• Experience building technical teams, hiring, setting direction, managing delivery, and establishing a new function.
• Deep knowledge of AI models, agent systems, MCP, and RAG, with hands-on experimentation and production adoption experience.
• Hands-on experience building and deploying production AI systems, including agent workflows, tool integrations, evaluation, and guardrails.
• Experience with secure, scalable AI platforms, custom connectors, agent deployment pipelines, shared infrastructure, and architecture trade-offs.
• Strong communication and judgment when working with executives, engineers, and business teams to deliver measurable results.

Nice to have

• Experience in digital assets, financial services, or media.
• Experience redesigning business processes or leading operational improvement programs.
• Technical writing, speaking, open-source contributions, or participation in practitioner groups.
