Technical Support Scientist (Molecular Biology)

Location: Newark, California, United States; office environment with approximately 10% travel and occasional laboratory work.

Salary: $63,500–$104,450 per year.

What you will do

• Provide application assistance, product training, and troubleshooting for RNAscope and ACD product lines through chat, phone, email, and on-site visits.
• Serve as the primary technical contact for customers and provide scientific consultation for research-use applications.
• Monitor support channels, meet response-time expectations, and resolve technical issues comprehensively.
• Log and analyze recurring, high-impact issues in Salesforce CRM and communicate them for resolution.
• Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and R&D on product performance feedback.
• Develop and maintain the technical support knowledge database.

Requirements

• PhD with 0+ years, MS with 3+ years, or BS with 5+ years of laboratory experience in molecular biology, biochemistry, or a similar discipline.
• At least 5 years of laboratory experience with experimental design, cell techniques, and molecular techniques.
• Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and solve technical problems involving biological assays.
• Strong presentation, teaching, communication, interpersonal, and customer-service skills.
• Ability to travel approximately 10% and work in an office with occasional laboratory duties.
• Must have United States work authorization that does not now or in the future require visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Experience in pathology, histology, and tissue analysis.
• Experience preparing tissues and reagents for IHC, ISH, and imaging.
• Technical customer support or application support experience.
