Staff Software Engineer (Fintech)

Location: United States. The working environment ranges from fully remote to hybrid.

Base salary: $200,000–$250,000 annually, plus eligibility for a performance-based bonus.

What you will do

• Design and build high-throughput services and APIs for core trading platform capabilities.
• Own initiatives end to end, from technical design through deployment, monitoring, production operations, and iteration.
• Shape system architecture, service boundaries, API versioning, engineering standards, and reusable development practices.
• Build reliable distributed systems with asynchronous event-driven communication and strong performance characteristics.
• Establish observability through metrics, logging, and distributed tracing; participate in on-call rotations and incident response.
• Mentor engineers, collaborate with product and design, and occasionally contribute to the React/TypeScript frontend.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience building and shipping production systems at scale.
• Deep proficiency in C# and the .NET ecosystem, with experience designing production services used across multiple teams.
• Experience with microservices or modular architecture, API versioning, distributed high-availability systems, and event-driven communication.
• Strong database experience with PostgreSQL or SQL Server, including schema design, query optimization, and transactional behavior.
• Production experience with observability, distributed tracing, debugging, incident response, Docker, and AWS.
• Strong testing, communication, problem-solving, consensus-building, and cross-team technical leadership skills.

Nice to have

• Kubernetes, EKS, Helm, or GitOps tools such as ArgoCD.
• React, TypeScript, SignalR, or WebSockets experience.
• Experience with high-throughput, low-latency systems and performance tuning across multiple services.
• Incident leadership, including root-cause analysis and remediation follow-ups.
• Background in financial services, fintech, trading systems, market data, brokerage operations, or compliance-regulated environments.
