Automotive Mechanic (Automotive Restoration)

What you will do

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain vintage, classic, racing, concept, and modern vehicles.
• Perform inspections and preventive maintenance to preserve operational integrity.
• Assist with historically accurate mechanical restorations, including engine rebuilds, drivetrain repairs, and component fabrication.
• Collaborate with curators and historians while following conservation guidelines and preserving vehicle originality.
• Prepare vehicles for exhibitions, events, driving demonstrations, loading, unloading, and transport.
• Maintain service records, condition reports, and restoration documentation.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in automotive repair, mechanical restoration, or equivalent technical training.
• Extensive knowledge of vintage and classic vehicle electrical, fuel, ignition, and other mechanical systems.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills across different automotive eras.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to bend, lift, reach, and work on or under vehicles for extended periods.
• Protective equipment and adherence to shop safety protocols are required.

Nice to have

• Fabrication and machining experience, including welding, lathe, or milling work.
• Familiarity with conservation practices in museum or collection settings.
• CDL or racing licenses.
