Senior Clinical Pharmacist

Location: Hybrid Flex - Durham, North Carolina. Strong preference for candidates residing in or willing to relocate to the Raleigh-Durham area.

Salary: $118,691.00–$189,906.00 annually, plus an annual incentive bonus.

What you will do

• Serve as the strategic clinical pharmacy lead and primary advisor for a large employer client.
• Develop and communicate strategies for formulary design, utilization management, specialty pharmacy, clinical programs, and emerging drug trends.
• Lead client-facing meetings, quarterly business reviews, strategic planning sessions, and executive presentations.
• Evaluate pharmacy trends, utilization patterns, pipeline therapies, and market developments to identify optimization opportunities.
• Support clinical program implementation, including site-of-care optimization, preventive medication strategies, and drug utilization initiatives.
• Analyze clinical and financial performance metrics while ensuring regulatory, accreditation, and quality compliance.

Requirements

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, or 10+ years of related experience in lieu of the degree.
• Active pharmacist license in North Carolina or the ability to obtain licensure before hire.
• Experience with clinical pharmacy, pharmacy benefit management, formulary management, utilization management, and clinical program development.
• Strong communication, relationship management, presentation, consulting, and influencing skills.
• Ability to collaborate with pharmacy, medical, finance, analytics, operations, sales, and account management stakeholders.

Nice to have

• 5+ years of managed care, health plan, PBM, or employer pharmacy consulting experience.
• Experience leading complex pharmacy initiatives for large employer, government, or public-sector clients.
• Experience with executive-level presentations, rebate strategy, manufacturer contracting, and pharmacy financial management.
• Working knowledge of pharmacy operations, specialty pharmacy, and pharmacy benefit administration.
