Quality Engineer Intern (Manufacturing)

Location: Onsite at hirify.global Plant 3 in Pella, Iowa, USA. First shift; no travel expected.

What you will do

• Review internal and external quality performance across whole goods, production, plant, and supplier quality, and communicate trends to manufacturing leadership.
• Support root cause and corrective action activities, troubleshooting issues and implementing solutions to reduce defects.
• Execute and audit control plans and manufacturing processes, partnering with manufacturing engineering on mistake-proofing and process improvements.
• Collaborate with suppliers to identify problems and verify quality improvements.
• Participate in process capability studies and continuous improvement activities using SPC methods, CPK, control charts, and Minitab or similar statistical software.
• Support Quality Management System processes and quality improvement projects.

Requirements

• High school diploma required.
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Awareness of APQP, Core Tools, SPC, CPK, and Minitab or similar statistical software.
• Awareness of Lean Sigma or Six Sigma methodology, including DMAIC.
• Experience with troubleshooting and root cause analysis; exposure to FMEA and 8D problem solving.
• Ability to work in a team environment, operate assembly and measurement tools, and read prints and GD&T.
