Staff Automation Engineer (MedTech)

Location: Limerick, Ireland; onsite, full-time

Salary: €63,300–€101,315 annual base pay

What you will do

• Develop, install, validate, and support automation control systems in a highly automated, validated manufacturing plant.
• Design and implement PLC, Safety PLC, SCADA, vision, robot control, electrical, servo motion, and device integration solutions.
• Create functional and detailed design specifications and deliver high-quality PLC and SCADA software.
• Commission and validate control software for high-volume, 24/7 regulated production.
• Fault-find complex automation equipment and provide subject-matter expertise for production issues and problem resolution.
• Lead or participate in multidisciplinary projects, delivering safety, quality, throughput, cost, and continuous-improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
• More than 5 years of relevant automation engineering experience.
• Experience with PLC and Safety PLC systems, robot control, electrical systems, servo motion, SCADA, and complex device integration.
• Experience developing validation and change-management documentation to medical-device standards.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, work to tight schedules, and collaborate across operations, quality, safety, and engineering functions.
• Ability to operate in conformance with site quality, health, and safety standards.

Nice to have

• Experience with industrial robotics, robotic automation, smart systems, or machine learning.
• Project management, controls compliance, lean supply chain, prototyping, or process improvement experience.
• Experience providing technical leadership, training, and mentoring to less experienced staff.
