Senior Scientist, Parenterals & Liquids Development (LNP)

Location: Beerse, Antwerp, Belgium; onsite

Base pay: €72,500.00–€115,230.00 per year

What you will do

• Lead formulation and process development for parenteral and liquid dosage forms, with a focus on LNP and targeted LNP systems for RNA and other advanced therapeutics.
• Develop and optimize LNP manufacturing processes, including nanoparticle formation, tangential flow filtration, conjugation, sterile filtration, and fill-finish activities.
• Perform hands-on laboratory experiments and document results in electronic lab notebooks and technical reports.
• Provide technical leadership for scale-up, technology transfer, and clinical manufacturing.
• Contribute to regulatory submissions, patent applications, technology-transfer reports, and development documentation.
• Collaborate with drug substance, protein, chemistry, process engineering, analytical, pharmaceutical sciences, supply, external partners, academic groups, and CDMOs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmaceutical or Chemical Engineering or Biochemistry with at least 6 years of experience; or a Master’s degree with at least 4 years; or a PhD with at least 2 years.
• Hands-on experience in parenteral or liquid formulation and process development for LNP and/or targeted LNP systems.
• Experience delivering RNA or other advanced therapeutics through lipid nanoparticle systems.
• Ability to evaluate scientific literature, screen manufacturing technologies, and identify drug delivery opportunities.
• Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, scientific communication, collaboration, accountability, and leadership skills.
• Ability to conduct accurate and safe hands-on experiments in a laboratory environment.

Nice to have

• Hands-on expertise in LNP characterization, scale-up, and manufacturing technologies.
• Experience with microfluidic or mixing technologies, tangential flow filtration, or conjugation technologies for targeted delivery systems.
• Background in liposomes, biodegradable microspheres, nanosuspensions, injectable biodegradable rods, or in-situ gels.
