Tax Accountant II - Sales Tax

What you will do

• Prepare and file indirect tax, sales and use, excise, Canadian tax, and related returns.
• Reconcile general ledger tax accounts and review tax packages for accuracy and completeness.
• Research tax rules and interpret their application to business activities.
• Prepare and review responses to tax authority inquiries and provide internal tax support.
• Prepare and reconcile data for property tax filings and business licenses.
• Maintain current knowledge of tax legislation, rulings, regulations, and litigation affecting the business.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Typically 3+ years of relevant work experience.
• Experience preparing and filing tax returns throughout the United States and Canada.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are required.
• Ability to work independently, exercise judgment, analyze situations, and collaborate across departments.

• Experience with Vertex Return software.
