Tax Accountant (Real Estate)

Support tax and accounting activities for a national home builder through hirify.global.

What you will do

• Convert financial statements from book basis to tax basis and reconcile differences.
• Prepare selected federal tax returns and supporting schedules, including Forms 1120, 1120S, 1120H, 1065, and 1040.
• Prepare and file intangible tax, tangible personal property tax, sales and use tax, trust, gift tax, and Form 5500 returns.
• Research federal, state, and local tax laws, regulations, and rulings to resolve tax treatment questions.
• Analyze financial data, evaluate tax positions and opportunities, and support tax planning strategies.
• Collaborate with external tax consultants, auditors, and regulatory agencies while monitoring regulatory changes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5–8 years of progressive tax accounting experience.
• Strong tax and accounting background with experience preparing federal, state, and local tax returns.
• Experience researching and interpreting tax laws and regulations.
• CPA certification or active pursuit of CPA certification is preferred.
• Real estate industry experience is helpful.

Nice to have

• Master's degree in Taxation.
• Public accounting firm experience.
