TL;DR
Electrical Engineer Intern (Marine): Developing electrical components, panels, wiring harnesses, and systems for boats with an accent on CAD modeling, electrical testing, and manufacturable product design. Focus on creating harness specifications, releasing engineering changes, troubleshooting AC/DC circuits, and supporting manufacturing integration.

Location: Edgewater, Florida, United States; onsite. Full-time internship from May to August 2027, with a 40-hour work week. Relocation is available.

Pay: $18.00–$27.00 per hour

What you will do

  • Support engineers in developing innovative, manufacturable electrical products for marine applications.
  • Develop electrical components, panels, wiring harnesses, and electrical systems within cost targets.
  • Create 2D drawings and 3D solid or surface models for new product ideas.
  • Communicate with equipment and component suppliers and help resolve technical issues.
  • Perform technical evaluations, install and test AC/DC circuits, and troubleshoot electrical systems.
  • Prepare manufacturing documentation, engineering changes, reports, and integration support.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline; two completed years are preferred.
  • Computer-aided design experience with Siemens NX, SolidWorks, CATIA, or Pro/ENGINEER.
  • 3D modeling skills and good interpersonal skills.
  • Must be currently authorized to work in the United States without requiring employment visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice to have

  • Boating, fishing, or marine industry knowledge or experience.
  • US Coast Guard safe boating course completion.
  • Boat handling experience.
