What you will do

• Own quarterly objectives and lead engineers in solving complex, open-ended technical problems.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Design, and Analytics on product ideation, constraints, risks, and trade-offs.
• Identify project, process, technology, and business challenges and drive effective solutions.
• Define service metrics, support availability and reliability, participate in incident management, and contribute to on-call operations.
• Establish software design, architecture, code review, testing, and engineering excellence practices.
• Mentor engineers, provide constructive feedback, and promote a culture of ownership and quality.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience designing and delivering scalable backend systems with Python, Kotlin, or similar languages.
• Experience building highly available distributed systems in cloud environments using AWS, MySQL, Spark, or equivalent technologies.
• Ability to define and execute technical plans for significant features and system components.
• Experience working safely in large codebases using automation, testing, and deployment best practices.
• Strong ownership, continuous learning, professional growth, and feedback mindset.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication for collaboration with distributed engineering teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with high-scale, customer-facing platforms.
• Knowledge of microservices and event-driven architecture.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and modern DevOps practices.
• Experience mentoring engineers and influencing technical direction across teams.
