Insurance Specialist - Billing Follow-Up (Medical Billing)

Location: Central Business Office in Vancouver, Washington, United States; onsite, full-time schedule

Salary: $20.75–$32.84 per hour

What you will do

• Monitor delinquent payer and patient accounts and perform collection activities.
• Research billing and payment issues, review reports, and resolve account discrepancies.
• Review payment postings and maintain accurate, current account balances.
• Contact patients about past-due balances, verify demographic and insurance information, and document conversations.
• Answer payment, billing, and insurance questions, resolve complaints, and refer patients for payment-plan support when appropriate.
• Maintain patient and payer credit balances and process timely refunds in accordance with applicable regulations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least two years of combined medical billing and payment experience.
• Knowledge of state, federal, and third-party claims processing.
• Knowledge of state and federal collections guidelines.
• Experience with insurance companies, EOBs, and medical terminology.
• Ability to comply with confidentiality, state, federal, and HIPAA requirements.
