Sr Principal Engineer - Mechanical Design (Gas Turbines)

Location: San Diego, California; onsite five days a week

Salary: $128,470–$192,710 per year

What you will do

• Provide technical input to multidisciplinary gas turbine product engineering programs for the Taurus 70 and Titan 250 platforms.
• Lead the design, development, validation, and release of complex components and systems from concept through production and field trials.
• Resolve manufacturing and operational issues while ensuring design acceptance, manufacturability, quality, durability, serviceability, and maintainability.
• Guide new technology development and process improvements focused on efficiency, cost reduction, quality, and time to market.
• Define and implement engineering procedures and translate functional requirements into detailed design documentation.
• Lead collaboration across engineering, operations, supply chain, marketing, testing, overhaul, and customer service functions.

Requirements

• Degree in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science program.
• Extensive experience in analytical thinking, decision-making, design engineering, product testing, and product design and development.
• Ability to develop detailed engineering designs and specifications, evaluate materials and suppliers, and conduct feasibility and cost analyses.
• Experience designing prototypes, coordinating test plans, analyzing test data, and improving product performance.
• Ability to lead projects, mentor others, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Must work onsite in San Diego, California five days per week.
