Consultant, Asset Management Portfolio Accounting

Location: Chicago, IL, United States; onsite full-time role

Salary: $74,200–$126,200 USD annually, plus potential discretionary bonus and equity component.

What you will do

• Lead internal and external accounting initiatives focused on automation and operating-scale improvements.
• Govern daily reconciliations for global institutional accounting entities and use reconciliation outcomes to drive continuous change.
• Analyze data and workflows, formulate solutions, write development stories, and partner with Technology on strategic capabilities.
• Serve as an escalation point for complex accounting problems and guide onshore and offshore partners.
• Provide business testing and certification for system capabilities under tight, competing deadlines.
• Collaborate with Product, COO, Technology, Performance Measurement, Attribution, and other teams to design future-state operating models and scalable reporting for funds and separate accounts.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; an MBA is preferred.
• At least four years of experience in the investment management industry, including a track record of leading accounting functions.
• Detailed knowledge of investment management, multiple asset classes, investment systems, and GAAP.
• Proficiency in investment accounting for equity and fixed income asset classes; fund administration experience is strongly preferred.
• Strong analytical, communication, decision-making, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employment-based visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Experience with SQL.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Suite products, including Excel-based formulas.
• Experience driving iterative improvement and building resilient, autonomous global teams.
