Inventory Accountant

What you will do

• Analyze daily gross margin, inventory, and cost accounting reports for one company region.
• Work with branch managers and personnel to ensure accurate margin reporting and inventory transactions.
• Research questionable margins or inventory levels and validate inventory adjustments.
• Complete monthly SOX reports and support internal controls over inventory transactions.
• Support consignment inventory, annual physical counts, count reconciliations, and variance adjustments.
• Prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts, review transactions, and contribute to special projects; approximately 5% travel may be required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
• 0–3 years of practical experience.
• Working knowledge of ERP systems; PeopleSoft or SAP experience is an asset.
• Strong analytical, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills with high attention to detail.
• Ability to apply accounting standards, manage competing deadlines, and collaborate across business areas.
• Strong integrity and business ethics.
