Senior Software Engineer (Climate Tech)

What you will do

• Scale and maintain the Python-based analytics engine that processes large streams of building data.
• Build scalable, maintainable, observable, performant, and production-grade software.
• Apply software engineering best practices, testing, monitoring, and maintainable code structures.
• Collaborate with data scientists and domain experts to improve engineering practices.
• Use Kubernetes-native infrastructure, autoscaling Docker containers, Google Cloud, and Pub/Sub queues while taking end-to-end ownership of deployments and runtime behavior.
• Explore AI-enabled workflow improvements using tools such as Gemini and Transformers.

Requirements

• Strong experience building software systems with an emphasis on clean code, architecture, scalability, and performance.
• Strong Python proficiency, particularly with data-heavy libraries such as Pandas or NumPy.
• Ability to solve complex performance and scale challenges beyond standard CRUD API development.
• Experience or interest in working with Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud-native systems.
• Ability to collaborate autonomously in a small agile feature team and work with data scientists and domain experts.
• Strong Java or Kotlin engineering experience is also considered when combined with willingness to work primarily in Python.

Nice to have

• Experience with PyTorch.
• Knowledge of Kotlin, Spring Boot, PostgreSQL, or time-series databases.
• Familiarity with Next.js, React, or TypeScript.
