IT Security Engineer (Cybersecurity)

Location: Hybrid in Lansing or Grand Rapids, Michigan; initial training is in person, with work from home available up to 3 days per week. Fully remote work is not available.

What you will do

• Reduce IT security risk and respond to security incidents across the company and its affiliates.
• Enforce corporate security policies and support practices that protect infrastructure confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
• Administer, upgrade, and troubleshoot security products and applications.
• Research and recommend cybersecurity mitigation controls aligned with company policies and industry best practices.
• Monitor systems and advise on security issues to verify that internal controls are appropriate and operating effectively.
• Write and maintain security procedures and technical documentation.

Requirements

• Four-year degree in information security, information systems, information technology, computer science, computer engineering, or a related field is preferred; several years of relevant experience may be considered instead.
• Ability to analyze information, solve problems logically, work accurately with details, and communicate effectively.
• Ability to explain current cybersecurity threats and their relevance to colleagues.
• Ability to learn and use security tools and security development techniques.
• Ability to document learned concepts and skills and participate actively in meetings.
• Ability to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship is required.
