2027 Elevate Program and 2028 Tax Intern (Accounting)

Location: Chicago, United States. Full-time role with travel to assigned client locations and reliable transportation required.

Compensation: $34–$40 per hour for the internship. Participation in the Elevate program itself is unpaid; conference travel and participation expenses are covered.

What you will do

• Participate in the three-day Elevate leadership conference and year-long professional development experience.
• Build knowledge of clients’ businesses, industries, accounting systems, controls, values, and relevant GAAP and GAAS issues.
• Learn and apply the hirify.global audit approach and related tools.
• Assess risks and evaluate client internal control structures.
• Perform substantive tests and tests of internal controls to identify and resolve accounting or reporting issues.
• Draft financial statements under prescribed formats while contributing to multiple client engagements.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an accredited accounting degree program.
• Working toward a B.A., B.S., or equivalent degree from an accredited university.
• At least 90 credit hours completed by the start of the internship.
• Expected full-time associate start date in Fall 2029 or Winter 2030.
• Demonstrated leadership and involvement in campus or community organizations, strong communication skills, teamwork, and a client-focused mindset.
• A minimum 3.4 GPA is preferred; entry-level candidates requiring current or future immigration sponsorship are not eligible.

• GPA of 3.4 or higher.
• Experience demonstrating leadership in student or community organizations.
