Manager, Copyright, APAC

Location: Kowloon, Hong Kong; minimum 4 days per week in the office

What you will do

• Lead and develop the APAC Regional Copyright team, including workload planning, delegation, training, and performance management.
• Manage copyright administration across APAC, including contract and work registrations, duplicate claims, disputes, suspense research, and portal administration.
• Monitor catalogue registrations, APAC deals, affiliate agreements, and income flows across affiliates, sub-publishers, PROs, CMOs, and processing partners.
• Prepare weekly and monthly performance reports, define critical metrics, and use data to support decision-making and royalty collection efficiency.
• Drive process improvements and support strategic planning, goal setting, and project management with regional administration leadership.
• Resolve copyright enquiries and client issues while collaborating with legal, finance, creative, royalty, and tracking teams.

Requirements

• Degree in music or administration, with 6+ years of experience at an international music publisher and at least 2 years of team management experience.
• Strong knowledge of music publishing contracts, copyright and royalty systems, and PRO/CMO collective rights administration.
• Advanced Excel capabilities, including Power Pivot and advanced formulae, plus experience analysing and manipulating high-volume data files.
• Excellent organisation, communication, prioritisation, and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple time-sensitive projects.
• Ability to read and write in English and Chinese, including Simplified and Traditional Chinese.
• Flexibility to work across time zones outside regular working hours when required.

Nice to have

• Ability to read and write Korean, Japanese, Thai, or Vietnamese.
• Knowledge of collection society structures and licensing and distribution processes.
• Background in collection society or music rights management administration.
• Passion for music.
