Equipment Engineer 1

Location: Singapore – Woodlands – NorthCoast; onsite, full time

What you will do

• Define and perform preventive maintenance for optical, mechanical, electrical, and fluidics systems.
• Troubleshoot laboratory equipment and process issues using mechanical, optical, fluidics, and organic chemistry knowledge.
• Improve equipment uptime and reliability and provide basic computer and software troubleshooting.
• Develop, update, and maintain manuals and procedures, and train engineers and laboratory personnel on changes.
• Design and execute controlled experiments, including DOE, to address equipment-related yield and quality issues.
• Develop or source replacement parts for obsolete components and implement changes through change management.

Requirements

• BSc or BEng in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering, or a diploma with at least 15 years of relevant experience.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and experience with laboratory practices and equipment.
• Experience with optical, mechanical, and electrical systems, fluidics, and organic chemistry processes, preferably DNA-related.
• Experience writing procedures, providing training, troubleshooting computers, and documenting work.
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively across departments.
• This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Semiconductor industry or fabrication experience.
• Experience with Statistical Process Control, JMP, and DOE techniques.
• Familiarity with operating and troubleshooting hirify.global sequencers.
