TL;DR
Mercury Marine: Quality Engineering Co-op (Manufacturing Quality): Testing, analyzing, and reporting manufacturing and warranty quality issues for outboard and sterndrive motors with an accent on root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and process improvement. Focus on collecting manufacturing data, mitigating process risk, and applying quality tools on the plant floor.

Location: Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, United States; onsite. Full-time, 40 or more hours per week, from January to August 2027 or May to December 2027. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future. Relocation is available.

Salary: $18.00–$27.50 per hour.

What you will do

  • Test, analyze, and report internal and external quality concerns.
  • Work with customers and manufacturing teams to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Evaluate customer-identified product issues and collaborate on process and product resolutions.
  • Collect and analyze manufacturing and warranty data.
  • Mitigate risk through proactive analysis of manufacturing processes and systems.
  • Manage assigned quality projects from inception to completion while working on the plant floor.

Requirements

  • Current enrollment in a bachelor's degree program, preferably in Quality, Industrial Technology, Industrial Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • At least second-semester sophomore standing with 48 completed credits.
  • Ability to enroll in a formal co-op program through a university.
  • Availability for a full-time co-op term of 40 or more hours per week.
  • Strong mathematics background and experience with basic statistics, including F-tests and distribution analysis.
  • Advanced computer skills in Excel and PowerPoint.
