Sr. Director, Insurance Portfolio Management (Fixed Income)

Location: Addison, TX; Montpelier, VT; or New York, NY. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Salary: $206,250–$302,500 USD per year, plus potential annual incentive compensation and benefits.

What you will do

• Manage fixed income, equity, and alternative investments in line with risk appetite and portfolio objectives.
• Optimize portfolio duration and credit quality to align assets with insurance liabilities.
• Collaborate with actuarial teams on asset-liability matching, duration targets, capital efficiency, and surplus optimization.
• Monitor market, credit, liquidity, concentration, performance, yield, spread, and total-return metrics.
• Ensure compliance with insurance regulatory investment guidelines.
• Present asset-class reviews and portfolio analysis to investment committees, executive leadership, and board members.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field.
• 5–12+ years of experience in institutional asset management, insurance investments, or fixed income portfolio management.
• Strong understanding of insurance balance sheets, statutory accounting, ALM frameworks, and capital modeling.
• Deep knowledge of fixed income markets, including corporate, sovereign, and structured products.
• Proficiency in Excel, Bloomberg, and portfolio management systems, with strong quantitative and analytical skills.
• Portfolio allocation and transaction or trading experience, plus strong communication and presentation skills.

Nice to have

• MBA or master’s degree.
• CFA charterholder status.
