TL;DR
Tax Accountant - Income Tax (Onsite) (Federal and State Tax Compliance): Preparing federal, state, and local tax filings, tax accounting entries, estimates, and reports for partnerships, trusts, foundations, and individuals with an accent on compliance accuracy, account reconciliation, and technical tax research. Focus on calculating Texas Gross Margin Tax, documenting tax analysis, coordinating timely information across departments, and managing multiple deadline-driven filings.

What you will do
- Prepare and assist with federal and state tax returns for partnerships, private foundations, trusts, and individuals.
- Prepare K-1 activity journal entries, tax accounting entries, year-end closing entries, and monthly partnership accounting for investment partnerships.
- Prepare quarterly estimates, annual tax reports, tax provisions, and Texas Gross Margin Tax calculations.
- Reconcile federal and state tax accounts and prepare related journal entries.
- Coordinate with internal departments and external vendors to obtain accurate, timely tax information.
- Research technical tax issues, document analyses, respond to regulatory inquiries, and support timely completion of tax filings.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting or a related field from an accredited four-year college or university.
- At least two years of public or corporate tax experience.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Strong analytical, organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with attention to detail and the ability to multitask.
- Ability to work onsite in San Antonio, handle deadlines, travel locally or nationally, and perform the stated physical duties.
Nice to have
- CPA certification.
- Experience with Workday, BNA Tax Management, RIA, OneSource Income Tax, CCH ProSystem fx, or CCH Workpaper Manager.
