Shift Supervisor (Biotechnology)

Location: Maple Grove, Minnesota, United States; onsite

Salary: $95,000–$115,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead a team of operators at the Maple Grove pilot plant during commissioning, start-up, and ongoing operations.
• Build procedures, batch records, training programs, staff-development systems, and communication plans during facility construction.
• Promote a Zero-Harm safety culture, including job safety analyses, pre-task briefs, stop-work criteria, and timely resolution of safety concerns.
• Train operators on unit operations, integrated process design, aseptic fermentation strategies, client-specific process flows, and deviation support.
• Coordinate preventive and reactive maintenance requests, raw-material inventory updates, sanitation, food safety, food defense, and environmental permit compliance.

Requirements

• At least two years of experience in a biotechnology organization, pilot-scale or commercial operation, or CDMO environment.
• Experience as a shift supervisor or operations manager supervising at least two people, or as an upstream/downstream process engineer supporting operations or technology transfer.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or Mechanical Engineering; candidates without a degree may qualify with at least six years of relevant biotechnology experience.
• Strong working knowledge of upstream and downstream systems used in biotechnology.
• Successful completion of a background check and pre-employment drug and alcohol screening is required after a conditional offer.
• Work is performed onsite at the Maple Grove, Minnesota pilot plant.
