Credit Analyst (Finance)

Location: Dallas, United States; full-time office environment

What you will do

• Review new and existing client and matter intake requests to assess creditworthiness, financial condition, payment history, reputation, and overall risk.
• Research corporate structures, industry risks, litigation or bankruptcy indicators, payment trends, and other relevant business-risk factors.
• Support recommendations for credit terms, retainers, billing arrangements, and other risk-mitigation measures.
• Prepare clear creditworthiness summaries, document reviews and approvals, and identify matters requiring escalation.
• Collaborate with the Credit Manager, New Business Intake, billing attorneys, and Billing and Collections teams to resolve payment delays and collections issues.
• Monitor changes in client financial condition, ownership, and payment behavior and communicate material concerns.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field.
• Experience in credit analysis, financial analysis, credit management, risk assessment, or related finance operations.
• Ability to interpret financial, credit, and public-record information and convert findings into practical recommendations.
• Strong analytical, research, critical-thinking, communication, prioritization, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook skills; ability to learn new software tools.
• Ability to handle confidential information and work professionally with attorneys, clients, and staff.

Nice to have

• Experience with S&P Capital IQ, Experian Business IQ, Dun & Bradstreet, Coface, or comparable tools.
• Experience in a law firm, partnership, or professional services environment.
• Credit management certification.
• Familiarity with Intapp Intake, 3E, law firm billing, collections, conflicts, or client and matter lifecycle processes.
