Chemist (Petrochemicals)

Location: Deer Park, Texas, United States; onsite full-time

What you will do

• Perform hands-on laboratory analysis of crude oil, fuel oils, middle distillates, petroleum, petrochemical, LPG, and LNG products.
• Operate gas chromatographs and other laboratory equipment.
• Apply current laboratory analysis methods, safety procedures, and reporting techniques.
• Provide guidance and maintain training standards for laboratory technicians, including possible supervisory duties.
• Prepare accurate results and reports while handling multiple deadlines and assigned responsibilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related science, or equivalent work experience.
• At least one year of direct transferable laboratory experience.
• Valid driver’s license and TWIC.
• Knowledge of ASTM standards and ability to work with chemical, petrochemical, and petroleum products.
• Accurate color differentiation by sight, strong attention to detail, and effective communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, balance concurrent projects, and meet different deadlines.
