TL;DR
R&D Project Manager (New Product Development): Leading global R&D and NPD projects from concept to launch with an accent on cross-functional coordination, governance, budgets, schedules, and quality standards. Focus on translating strategy into actionable plans, managing risks and stakeholders across New Zealand, China, and Europe, and delivering innovative food-production technology.
Location: Mount Wellington, Auckland, New Zealand. Full-time onsite role with up to 15 days of domestic and international travel per year.

What you will do
- Manage planning, execution, governance, and delivery of R&D and new product development projects.
- Lead projects ranging from focused initiatives to large strategic programs within agreed timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Coordinate global R&D and operations teams across New Zealand, China, and Europe.
- Facilitate stakeholder decisions, manage risks, and maintain project momentum.
- Oversee budgets, schedules, reporting, metrics, and project handovers to operational teams.
- Apply the project model and promote continuous improvement while prioritizing health, safety, and environmental care.
Requirements
- 5+ years of project management experience in technology, engineering, manufacturing, or innovative product environments.
- Proven ability to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to required quality standards.
- Experience leading cross-functional and global project teams.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies and governance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Business, Project Management, or a related field.
- Fluent written and spoken English required.
Nice to have
- PMP, PRINCE2, MSc, or MBA.
- Experience in new product development or R&D environments.
- Additional language skills.
