Real Estate Private Funds Lawyer (Private Equity Funds)

Salary: $260,000–$360,000 per year, plus a short-term cash incentive program. Compensation varies by geography and experience.

What you will do

• Serve as lead in-house counsel for a range of real estate equity, credit, secondary, closed-end and open-end funds.
• Oversee fund legal operations throughout the fund lifecycle in coordination with business stakeholders.
• Lead legal work for co-investments, club funds and bespoke new products.
• Lead investment structuring with finance operations and tax, and oversee corporate governance for fund entities.
• Coordinate negotiations of credit facilities, ISDAs and ancillary operational agreements.
• Review investment committee, conflicts committee and LPAC materials while overseeing outside counsel and service providers.

Requirements

• J.D. and at least 6 years of legal experience at a major law firm or in-house.
• Private fund experience and knowledge of the U.S. Investment Advisers Act of 1940 and U.S. securities laws.
• Background in private equity fund formation; prior real estate funds experience is not required.
• Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
